The Position

As a business, Mears has made progress in transforming and developing our IT web-based solutions for a range of high-profile contracts and new way of workings. However, we recognise that there is much more we need to do and there is further progress to be made in terms of our capability to design, deliver and manage IT solutions for us as an organisation and to provide specialist support for our clients.

In order to address this, we are looking for a relationship focused IT Business Partner, who will engage with our clients, ensuring that customers’ requirements and requests are correctly interpreted so that our IT solutions are accurately delivered. As a client facing role, you will own the delivery of a range of complex IT change projects through –
  • Understanding the client needs and translating these to ensure solutions are correctly delivered within scoped projects.
  • Coordinate the IT activities in an operational change project from inception through to completion.
  • Deliver work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
  • Understanding the company’s business and IT strategy ensuring that all change projects contribute to and align with these strategies & goals.
  • Support the capturing of requirements and functionality for new development projects.
  • Support the UAT process within the business, during the rolling out of new functionality.
  • Ensuring the accurate handover of all works to a business as usual process including work and process documentation.

You will be able to influence the future IT approach of both Mears as an organisation and how we provide support to our wide network of clients across the UK.

The Person

You Will Be Keen To Take Responsibility For Delivering Business Technology Change And Expect You To Demonstrate

This is a great role which would suit someone who is hands on and has worked in similar role or someone with solid IT skills who has worked in an operational role in a similar industry.
  • Project management delivery and the project life cycle
  • You will show a genuine interest in IT, be technically savvy and be able to accurately articulate technical matters in an understandable manner
  • Strong and confident communication skills with a focus on being professional with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge of SQL and process mapping systems such as Visio
  • Analytical and logical approach to problem solving
  • Highly organised, motivated, results driven, self-managed and able to prioritise your own workload
As Mears has a footprint across the country there will be a degree of travel expected to attend meetings. However, we can be flexible in terms of your location as the majority of your time will be spent remote working.
