OVERALL SUMMARY

As a member of the Bespoke Investment Management team, you will join a team in Mayfair as they look to continue their rapid growth and firmly establish Close Brothers as the “go to” wealth manager. This is a rare opportunity to join our graduate programme, and will give you a very solid foundation from which to develop.

The role will be varied and you must be confident to take on new challenges. You will be supporting the investment team, helping manage the client relationships, as well as providing investment support on existing investments and new investment opportunities. You will assist with the creation of pitches for new clients, as well as helping with day to day maintenance of our investment portfolios. You will also commence or continue your study to enable you to develop into a junior investment manager. This will involve you undertaking the CISI or CFA exam program over a three to four year period.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Support in the writing of material with a focus on SRI and ESG.

Support in the writing of monthly reports for clients focusing on both the macro environment and trading activity.

Support in the research of investment holdings.

Keep close contact with the in-house research team to ensure the investment managers are well informed with current thinking and any change in recommendations. Attend meetings with company management, fund managers and company analysts and write reports to keep the team informed on developments.

Assist with ongoing client relationship management, including incoming and outgoing communication, account opening coordination and portfolio enquiries.

Assist with the client take on process, coordinating efforts with other departments within the business to ensure the smoothest possible outcome for the client.

Help put together new client pitch packs for potential new clients and meeting packs to update existing clients.

To help with portfolio maintenance, working with the risk and performance team to ensure portfolios are suitable for the client mandate and provide the investment managers with the data they require.

Assist the investment team with portfolio construction, asset allocation decision making and putting on deals across the client base.

Gather and assist in the production of suitability documentation and ensure reviews are completed as required according to individual client agreements.

Proactively seek to improve on processes and procedures within the scope of this role, challenging where required and taking an active role in their own continuous learning.

During your study seek to understand the investment framework at CBAM, along with the relevant risk profiles and client suitability when assess a client’s portfolio.

Educated to at least graduate level, minimum 2:1

Strong interest in finance, economics and companies

Numerate with Strong MS Office skills; Word (intermediate level), Excel (intermediate level – basic formulas), PowerPoint (intermediate level), Outlook (intermediate level)

Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written) including Report writing.

Personal values that demonstrate the ability to listen, patience and to empathise with respect.

Proactive nature, demonstrating a desire to gain efficiencies and improve procedures

Ability to work to tight deadlines with consistent accuracy and willing to help and assist to get the right client outcome

Excellent attention to detail

Confident to suggest ways of improving the service currently offered

Proven ability to take the initiative and to think for yourself.

Prepared to complete all necessary CISI or CFA qualifications
