Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently looking for an Instrument Technician on a 2/3 rotation until the end of the year. It will be monthly salaried.

Support the day-to-day running of the platform by safely performing Instrument maintenance tasks on platform utility and production equipment

With respect to the maintenance group, this role is accountable for maintaining a positive safety culture ensuring that all tasks are carried out within the law and company policies & procedures

Nature of Work:

  • Comply with all relevant Shell and Wood HSSE policies and procedures.
  • Carry out the execution of all work activities safely and in accordance with plans, control of work system and with the requirement of the task.
  • Maintain the process plant and associated equipment in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with relevant regulatory and client specific policies, procedures and performance standards.
  • Fulfil all tasks as requested by the client, in accordance with the relevant training and competency framework.
  • Carry out fault finding and diagnostic checks on all site equipment ensuring any repairs are addressed promptly.
  • Respond to breakdowns in a timely manner and carry out/apply effective fault finding and investigation techniques.
  • Carry out major servicing, ovehauls and instrutive maintenance on site equipment.
  • Carry out and participate in root cause analysis to improve equipment reliability.
  • Ensure comprehensive records and logs are maintained and effective handovers are carried out at shift and/or crew change.
  • Identify and propose ideas and solutions aimed at increasing efficiency in cost or time without loss or integrity and present ideas to relevant management.
  • Support team performance by sharing knowledge and best practises.
  • Provide technical discipline support to offshore and onshore as required.
  • Support turnaround preparation and execution as required.
  • Deliver against agreed (KPI’s)

Role Specific Training:

Minimun Qualifications:

  • In line with Wood base standards.

Minimum experience:

  • Practical knowledge of process, systems, plant and equipment.

Role specific skills:

  • Must have core trade competencies that meet Wood base standards plus client additional standards and any nominated role requirements identified by the client.
  • Demonstrate the ability to apply theory in practical context.
  • Be able to demonstrate team working skills
  • Manage skill requirements to fulfil any additional tasks as requested by the client.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Have the ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation.
  • Preffered Skills/Qualifications
  • CIP-TUV Function Safety Technician or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years oil and gas experience.
  • Exposure to minor/major projects, including cold/hot pre-commissioning.
  • Self Starter with exposure in creation of permitry paperwork.

Skills / Qualifications

Competencies:

  • Valid Offshore Certification
  • Must meet Wood minimum standards
  • Valid Compex
  • Valid TSBT02
  • Aprrenticeship/NVQ in relvent trade
