The post holder will be responsible for analytical interpretation of information, design and development of major information systems to meet the specifications of the trust and service development, including trust wide projects e.g. Electronic Patient records. Working as part of the Infection Prevention and Control team (IPC) to support the achievement of key performance and quality objectives through the provision of operational, management, and strategic information reports.

The post holder will be expected to work on their own initiative providing high level information analysis, systems development skills and expertise to define and establish reporting requirements to improve operational delivery including forecasting, trend analysis and modelling; recommending information reports and analysis and advising on information for performance/business planning.

Provide informatics expertise to the speciality groups in bespoke analysis and establishment of new information requirements to support the performance agenda.
  • Carry out complex analysis to support Trust staff at all levels, offering guidance and interpretation to ensure the analysis is both appropriate and useful. Producing comparisons, trends, summary and narrative and investigating any areas requiring further investigation, ensuring analysis methodology is documented and a systematic approach is taken
  • Produce internal and external information in support of the Trust in an accurate and timely manner, summarising highly complex data and information and presenting multifaceted and sensitive information to groups of staff at various levels e.g. IPC Committee, matron’s meetings etc
  • Highlighting difficulties in data quality, completeness and/or interpretation of management information as appropriate
  • Be proactive in the initiation of information analyses, suggesting information reports, providing analysis and advise on information for future programmes of work and service delivery
  • Provide advice and specialist knowledge to define Trust wide and external information requirements and establishing appropriate reporting m
  • Demonstrate advanced keyboard skill
  • Utilise experience, knowledge, judgement and skills to develop and improve information reporting systems for operational and strategic monitoring of patient-based information in line with National data requirements and definitions.
