UHCW NHS Trust is one of the UK’s leading teaching Trusts, providing acute and specialist services to a population of over 1 million. We have a strong reputation for innovation, clinical research, teaching and high-quality patient care and are the principal teaching hospital for Warwick Medical School as well as having strong connections with Coventry University.

We employ over 9000 staff, have a turnover of over £750 million and have 1.7 million patient contacts per year. The Trust comprises two busy hospitals with over 1,200 beds and 32 operating theatres, running clinical services from a number of other locations.

Our values-driven organisational development programme, and our five year partnership with the Virginia Mason Institute focus on improving services via lean methodology (called UHCWi) and are key to us achieving our vision of becoming a national and international leader in healthcare.

We are one of only a handful of NHS Trusts in the country who have a Chief Quality Officer (CQO) on our Board. This demonstrates our absolute focus on delivering high quality services and we were pleased to achieve a GOOD rating at our most recent CQC inspection in recognition of this.

Working directly to the CQO and in partnership with staff, stakeholders and patient representatives, you will continuously work to improve the quality of our services, identifying and implementing improvements in line with our UHCWi methodology. As a driven and influential leader you will have an excellent track record in leadership and operational management, and have worked in a large complex organisation. You will also have experience in addressing complex multi-professional challenges faced in an acute setting and have first class communication skills which will afford you the ability to work collaboratively and inspire teams to deliver the best possible care to all of our patients.

In return we can offer a unique opportunity to be part of an experienced and ambitious Leadership Team within an innovative organisation.
