An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of a dynamic financial management team at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust.

You will be a world class and ambitious CCAB or equivalent qualified accountant or nearing the end of your studies and looking to make your mark in the world of NHS Finance.

To work within the Group Finance Team to provide comprehensive financial advice to Service and Speciality managers to enable the achievement of financial balance and contribute to the business planning process and service developments.

Set, maintain and review Group / Speciality / Departmental budgets in accordance with Trust SFIs, budgetary control policy, and the reporting timetable. Obtain timely interpretations of budget variances to discuss and agree appropriate action with managers where necessary.

Contributing to the provision of work activities within the Group / Speciality / Departments to provide financial advice to managers and to ensure the availability of relevant information to provide accurate forecasts of potential future activities.

To obtain and evaluate financial information for input to business cases, providing support to the Corporate Planning team with the supply of relevant financial information and to complete financial aspects of capital bid forms on behalf of the Group / Speciality / Department.

Deliver a programme of financial training for managers to ensure that a high level of financial management skills is present. In addition assisting in raising the awareness within the Trust of the financial regime of both the NHS and the Trust.
