Location:Melton MowbrayPay And Benefits
  • Salary: £10.50 - £11.03 per hour.
  • Monday to Thursday 07:30 - 16:00, Friday 07:00 - 15:00.
  • Maximum 2.5-days a month shift cover based on existing operator holiday. requirements, 07:00 - 19:00, 19:00 - 07:00.
  • Overtime opportunities.

OverviewWorking for a Global FM company performing the role of Industrial Waste Operative you would be responsible for the management of waste and cleanliness of all areas of operations, waste containers and bins on our client’s manufacturing site. This would involve the use of on-site transport, chemicals, pressure washers and other cleaning equipment to ensure a safe working environment.You will also be required to drive a counterbalance forklift truck and operate ultra-high pressure water jetting equipment, experience is preferable, however, all training will be provided.The role is an integral part of maintaining a high standard within integrated facilities management to support our clients needs and encompasses the entire site.The role allows growth with skills able to be developed aiding in the sites waste team’s various operations with a view to being able to complete all roles when called upon on a shift basis to cover existing operators holiday entitlements and sickness.What should I expect from the role?The role is physically demanding and needs someone who likes to stay physically fit and enjoys demanding workIt involved working in both warm and cold environments across the whole site.Full training provided with the opportunity of working overtimeRequirements
  • Clean driving licence.
  • Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence would be beneficial.
  • Good level of physical fitness as role involves lifting/carrying cleaning chemicals and transporting cleaning equipment around site
  • Be able to work as part of a team but also have the initiative to manage own area and workload
  • Be able to adhere to agreed health and safety requirements
  • The ability to react quickly to changes in daily activities
  • Be able to work in warm and cold environments
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Computer literate (training provided)
  • Flexible approach to work and hours.

Work activitiesYour Work Would Include
  • Working towards a daily/weekly cleaning schedule as well as potential non-controllable tasks.
  • The use of on-site vehicles (tractor, forklift truck and site van).
  • Operating an ultra-high pressure water jetting unit.
  • Ensuring that all work is completed to the required standard and in a timely and safe manner
  • Following the correct procedures.
  • Attending and assisting with meetings and training sessions
  • Any other ad hoc duties as required by the needs of the business
As a Waste Operative, You Will NeedSkills, interests, and qualities
  • Good spoken English communication, and customer service skills
  • Ability to complete basic cleaning schedule checklists
  • Good ’hands on’ practical skills for handling tools and equipment
  • The ability to cope with food waste products
  • Good health, Physical fitness, and good eyesight
  • Awareness of health and safety and the environment
