How you’ll make a difference

You will make a difference as an ICT Service Desk Technician by aiding the outcomes in education for students by supporting teachers in the effective use of IT.

What will you be doing?
  • In a typical day you will be providing ICT hardware and software support to schools and other young people’s establishments.
  • You will provide this support in a variety of ways, either by onsite visits, telephone support or remote access as appropriate.
  • This is a customer facing role and you will provide IT support to schools. This includes; routine hardware and software maintenance, installation and configuration of new hardware and software as well as hardware repairs.
  • You will be allocated tasks, service desk calls or installations by the ICT Service Desk.

What we need from you

  • You will have a current IT qualification or have the equivalent demonstrable experience of desktop applications and Windows operating systems – NVQ3 or equivalent in the IT field or A+, N+, MCP Desktop Qualifications.
  • Ideally you will have experience in logging calls on an industry standard service desk and Microsoft Office and are confident dealing with customers on the phone.
  • It is desirable that you will be a Microsoft Certified Professional.
Please note that due to the nature of this role it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post.
