What is it all about?

Our Careers Information, Advice & Guidance Advisors provide a direct Information and Guidance service to our residents through a mixture of one to one and group interventions, which is confidential to the individual and meets the highest standards of equality of opportunity. The Adviser will support resident’s induction into the prison. They will provide impartial and accurate information, advice and guidance on the education and training qualifications and employment activities available within the establishment.

How can you stand out from the crowd?

You should have high ethical standards and take personal accountability for everything you do and always look to be the best. You should have experience of providing quality Careers Information, Advice and Guidance to clients along with the facilitation of careers/employability workshops/programmes. Ideally you will hold a IAG qualification or be willing to work towards one with the full support of PeoplePlus. You will need to be confident when using a diverse range of presentation, facilitation and communication skills and be able to handle challenging situations whilst remaining calm and in control.

Please note there are restrictions in place when working in a Secure Environment. Electronic items such as mobile phones or tablets are not permitted. Some prisons do not allow any money to be taken in. In that case, you exchange money for tokens which you can exchange for tea/coffee/food etc.
