Our client is a scale-up getting ready for its next stage of growth and as a result, are currently offering a full-time HR and Payroll Co-ordinator opportunity.

Reporting to the HR Manager, this new role will play a key role in offering high-quality administrative and payroll services to our client’s people. From a technical perspective, the successful candidate will have proficient digital skills and a good eye for producing data-driven reports for managers and senior leaders. As a result, you will have excellent attention to detail, particularly when supporting payroll processes, and be confident in handling systems and software packages to produce timely and compliant solutions.

We are interested in speaking with candidates who can demonstrate a track record of building positive relationships with multi-stakeholder groups, able to be the cultural champion and advise on first line HR queries in a professional and people-centric way.

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintain the HR team’s shared inbox, responding to queries from managers relating to our policies, procedures or practices in a proactive and timely manner. Training and support will be given in this area from the HR Manager.
  • HR data collation and producing reports and KPI metrics for sharing with leaders.
  • Provide ad hoc support for key HR initiatives throughout the year (examples include appraisals, employee engagement survey, talent review and training).
  • Maintain electronic HR files and records of personal data (payroll, personal information, starters, leavers, ad hoc reports) and ensure all employment and data management requirements are met.
  • Manage benefits administration and payroll preparation and processing.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement within the HR function by sharing ideas to drive forward process efficiencies.
  • Coordinate and ensure the smooth running of HR administrative processes such as:
  • Pre-employment checks including right to work, wider background checks, references and compliance procedures
  • Issuing employment contracts and processing changes and leavers
  • Onboarding and probationary processes including co-ordinating with any external agencies
  • Be the first escalation point in the HR team and triage support requests and assist in employee relations cases
  • Clarify and help embed HR policies and procedures across the company alongside the HR Manager
  • Manage and ensure data integrity of our HRIS and learning platforms as well as good record keeping of HR related documentation
  • Collaborate effectively with a range of teams internally - from Finance to Office Management and Technical teams, whilst reporting to the HR Manager
  • Support the companywide OKR process

Skills/experience required:

  • Experience in an HR and payroll administration and/or coordinator role within a busy HR team.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office O365, including Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Proficient digital skills, including in the use of an HRIS e.g., SAGE payroll.
  • Excellent attention to detail, compiling and manipulating data, producing digital packs and presenting any key patterns and trends.
  • Organised, with the ability to prioritise, multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Integrity and good adherence to confidentiality requirements
  • Good interpersonal and people-facing skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Openness to feedback, demonstrating flexibility and willingness to learn
  • Aside from the above, you are passionate about HR and able to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive can-do attitude. You take responsibility for your workload and are proud to do a good job, whilst being supportive to the overall team priorities and workload.
