DC500 - HSE Risk Assessor Location - Reading/Slough Salary - £47,000 to £50,000 DOE Overview: First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our client to recruit an HSE Risk Assessor to join the team based out of their London office. This will be a hybrid/home-based role, travelling to the office 2 or 3 times a month. The rest of the Assessor’s time will be spent on site visits/assessments in the Slough and Reading Area, and working from home compiling reports etc.The Assessor will conduct compliance audits nationally in line with the requirements of ISO and British standards applicable to the Company’s management of Fire, Health & Safety risks, and Environmental aspects. Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct internal Fire, Health & Safety and Environmental audits/risk assessments at all sites nationally within scope in accordance with the audit schedule. Being responsible for efficient workload and visit management, scheduling in to make best use of your and Site Managers’ time. Keeping schedule and reports up to date and completed as per requirements. Carry out all risk assessments in line with best practice and in accordance with legal requirements. Facilitate external audits with certification body in accordance with UKAS requirements. Complete Business Continuity Testing. Provide advice and guidance as appropriate, whilst undertaking assessments and audits. Ensure compliance with all applicable legal and other requirements. Ensure identified non-conformities are progressed to satisfactory conclusions. Report on progress of the management system to the Head of HSE and any areas requiring attention or improvement. Deliver and/or prepare training and information resources to raise competence and awareness of those working for or on behalf of the Company. Drive continual improvement on management systems performance. Assist with Evacuation Drills at applicable properties. Assist with driving property compliance levels forwards. Assist with and where appropriate take the lead in conducting incident investigations. Keep functional leads fully informed of progress and key findings. Assist Procurement Dept with contractor vetting, tendering, investigations, performance management and raise the bar on HSE matters. Monitoring statutory and internal compliance, including meeting Company policies and procedures, RICS and ISO standards and any statutory timelines and escalation requirements. Skills and Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role. Strong interpersonal skills capable of communicating at various levels including meetings with occupiers, client, supplier, and wider stakeholders. Strong written and verbal communications including reprt writing. Experience of leading the planning and delivery of audits. Experience of conducting combined HS&E audits. Experience of conducting Fire Risk Assessments. Experience of running unplanned incident preparedness tests and fire drills. Experience of working in the Real Estate or Facilities Management sector [desirable]. Experience of carrying out Emergency Preparedness testing. NCRQ Level 6 Diploma in Health and Safety (or equivalent), or working towards qualification. Minimum Tech SP, preferably Graduate Member of IOSH - working towards Chartered status. NEBOSH National General Certificate [essential]. NEBOSH National Construction Certificate [desirable]. NEBOSH Fire and Risk Management [essential]. Legionella and Legionnaires Disease Awareness [desirable]. ISO 45001:2018 Internal Auditor (Occupational Health & Safety Management System) [desirable], or willing to complete qualification. IEMA Internal Auditor course [desirable]. Clean Driving Licence. In return our client offers: A salary of £47,000 to £50,000 DOE.
