The Human Resources Governance and Reporting lead is responsible for oversight and governance of the HR control environment meetings and reporting including: development and delivery of an function-wide framework to manage control-related enhancements; development and management of the end-to-end process for identification, remediation and completion of governance related issues; provision of function-wide Governance; management of protocols, governance and development and maintenance of reporting enhancements which help to articulate the effectiveness of control implementation.

The HR Business Control Committee is a cross-functional committee, co-chaired by the Head of HR and Control Management, which oversees on behalf of the firm’s senior management: (1) emerging risks with an impact the function, (2) Risk events, data breaches and other developing issues, and (3) tracking of remedial work to ensure operational risk remains at acceptable levels.

Position Summary

This position represents a unique opportunity to provide a holistic and aggregated view of key risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies associated with the operations of the firms Human Resources function, Globally. The successful candidate will work to ensure that areas of concern are promptly identified, socialized, escalated and addressed.

The role may require management of discrete projects in support of the above objective and is likely to require frequent communication and coordination with stakeholders, and preparation of written and oral communications on governance and project concerns.

Specific Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
  • Supporting specific reporting requirements in relation to governance of HR, this will involve reviewing and preparing materials and agenda, taking appropriate minutes, organising and tracking follow ups to completion.
  • Leading and supporting the BCC Co-Chairs with the running of each BCC meeting.
  • Managing data collection and timely reporting for the BCC in accordance with tight deadlines.
  • Participating in the review of topics through internal line of business and functional materials and other sources, to suggest focus areas for the BCC.
  • Analysing status updates and providing transparency of month on month trends.
  • Participating in deep dive reviews to bring topics to governance as needed.
  • Partnering as required with the broader CIB Central Controls Office and CIB Office of Legal Obligations teams, and other Control Management and Secretariat functions, to proactively identify emerging themes as well as to generally support HR Governance.
  • Development of a strong network of internal stakeholder relationships in support of delivering the HR BCC and its materials.
  • Continuous review and development of processes to provide opportunities for improvements in quality and efficiency; as well as ongoing commitment to enhancing meeting effectiveness and driving best governance practices.
  • Implementing and maintaining processes and procedures to ensure consistency of the work being undertaken from month to month, as well as ensuring the BCC Terms of Reference are updated as necessary.

Qualifications And Competencies
  • Relevant experience relevant work experience
  • Strong professional experience in financial services, with knowledge of Human Resources Operations, and corresponding internal controls and/or governance.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills; including the ability to reconcile and interpret data and to summarize key messages for providing commentary.
  • Strong skills in time management with the ability to assess situations quickly and multi-task when required; as well as managing complex work plans with conflicting priorities.
  • Able to work across a range of complex issues; ability to learn new topics quickly
  • Effective in responding quickly and accurately to internal and external requests for information; escalating as appropriate.
  • Team player who works well with colleagues of all levels in achieving results, and willing to take personal accountability.
  • Excellent verbal and written presentation and communication skills, relationship-building and influencing skills with the flexibility and ability to engage effectively with senior management within the firm; and to partner with, and where necessary challenge, a range of stakeholders.
  • High degree of proactivity and self-motivation to consistently deliver work of a high standard whilst under pressure; comfortable working independently in a dynamic, challenging and results-driven environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to present work accurately, clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing; flexing detail and form according to audience.
  • High degree of proficiency with PowerPoint/PitchPro, Word and Excel.
