HR Business Partner – New Business Transition

Field based – will be on sites in the UK with some international travel

£60,000 to £65,000 dependent upon experience, plus car / car allowance, 33 days holiday, pension, life assurance, employee assistance programme, wellbeing support, and flexible benefits scheme


About the Job


As HRBP for new business transition you will formulate strategy, execute initiatives, and deliver to varying customer requirements relating to Unipart Logistics (UL) contract take-on, from contract award to BAU. This includes complex TUPE transfers and brand new site start-ups. Your role covers all UL sectors and will support the people and growth strategy for UL, providing internal and external customer support. Fundamental to this role is driving business excellence, continuous improvement, and project delivery.


Reporting into the Head of HR - Corporate and Central Function – your role has a strong focus on supporting leaders and colleagues across the business including Commercial Directors, Operations Directors, Senior Managers, Transition Project Team members, HR colleagues, the Customer’s representatives, Union and Employee representatives and all transferring colleagues. Supporting leaders and colleagues on these projects and contracts you will be the lead HR colleague, advising and delivering a full range of people activities to ensure a successful contract take-on and on-going delivery. The role has a significant project and business development orientation.


About You

  • Educated to Graduate level or equivalent
  • Significant TUPE experience
  • Proven experience of developing HR strategy and holding a leadership role in HR
  • Highly effective project management skills with proven ability to develop robust project and task plans and monitor results – working with interdependencies and managing risk
  • Ability to cope with the demands of a fast-moving and ever-changing set of priorities
  • Experience of developing business teams and increasing team capability
  • Recruitment experience at senior manager and director level
  • Experience in working and engaging, negotiating and influencing in a challenging stakeholder and customer driven environment
  • Ability to quickly understand key business requirements and workflows and ensure test cases reflect all business scenarios
  • Proven success within a commercially focussed environment with strong commercial awareness
  • Ability to work on your own initiative
  • Ideally CIPD qualified or part qualified
  • Previous delivery within an environment of a high degree of organisational change would be an advantage
