As in-house recruiters for a large multinational organisation based in West Yorkshire we are looking for a HR Business Partner with excellent knowledge and skills around the people agenda. The successful applicant will report to the Head of Human Resources within the HR team. The purpose of the role is to provide advice and support to Line Managers on people issues ensuring consistency is applied at all times and that all decisions taken are in line with legislation alongside agreed policies and procedures. Act as a point of contact for all general day to day HR issues relating to the site. All work requires the need for a high degree of confidentiality, accuracy, and the ability to work to their optimum in a demanding environment.

Working Hours/Benefits

Mon - Thurs: 8:30am - 5:00pm
Friday: 8:30am - 1:30pm

Flexi-time of 30 minutes at either side of the core hours are available Mon – Thurs

The HR Business Partner’s Key Responsibilities Include
  • Support the business to ensure all people driven activities are conducted in line with employment legislation and best practice.
  • Ensure that all site specific and Company policies and procedures are communicated
  • Provide advice on HR issues in accordance with company policies/ procedures and relevant employment legislation.
  • Ensure all recruitment and selection processes are conducted in line with best practice
  • Provide support to line managers in relation to discipline and grievance issues as appropriate and ensure a HR presence throughout the relevant procedure.
  • Provide guidance on maternity/paternity leave and flexible working requests
  • Manage the site absence control procedure including all administration ensuring a consistent approach across all employees.
  • Management of our on-site Agency provider to ensure fulfilment of vacancies and review compliance
  • In conjunction with the Head of HR implement the HR Strategy for the site and undertake ad-hoc projects as and when required.
  • Carry out any other tasks as may be reasonably be requested by the Head of HR.
  • Production of MI and statistical analysis
  • Contribute to the successful achievement of the health & safety strategy

  • Experience of dealing with HR/people issues (disciplines, grievances, performance management etc).
  • Able to multi-task and prioritise own workload in line with the needs of the department.
  • Excellent knowledge of employment law.
  • 3 years + experience in a similar role in a manufacturing company preferably in a unionised environment.
  • CIPD qualified or alternatively 5 years + operating at a similar level within an organisation.
