An exciting opportunity has arisen within DENSO Marston, based in Shipley, West Yorkshire for an experienced IT Manager to join the company. DENSO Marston are a leading name in the design and manufacture of high-performance heat exchange units and cooling modules.

The IT Manager’s role is to ensure the streamlined operation of the IT Department in alignment with the business objectives. This individual will plan, coordinate, direct, and design IT-related activities of the organisation, as well as provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of the IT department. It is key to recognise that this is a Manufacturing Site requiring a high level of response and support whenever Manufacturing activities are under way.

Mon – Thurs 8.30 – 17.00
Fri – 8.30 – 13.30
(Flexi-time of 30 minutes at either side of the core hours is available Mon - Thurs)

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the business to deliver IT services in both the factory and office environments.
  • Work closely with the DENSO Japan & European IT functions ensuring the site complies with group policy and procedures (information security, etc).
  • Managing ongoing supplier relationships for hardware/software procurement as well as managed services.
  • Responsible for the IT disaster recovery for the wider business continuity plan.
  • People management including appraisal and reviews, recruitment, etc.
  • Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade,and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Practice asset management for IT hardware, software, and equipment.
  • Create Annual Plans based on Group, European and local strategic plans
  • Oversee the life cycle management and continuous improvement of the IT infrastructure and IT systems.
  • Budgetary responsibility in line with annual plan
  • Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those forarchitecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision.
  • Negotiate and administer vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

Essential Experience/skills

Strong technical knowledge of network, protocols, standards and PC operating systems, including
  • Cisco Meraki (WLAN, LAN & Security – VPNs etc).
  • Cisco Unified Communications (VoIP).
  • HPE Simplivity hyperconverged infrastructures.
  • VMware experience.
  • Active Directory including Group Policy Object management.
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 – 2016.
  • SQL Server administration.
  • Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops – On premise and cloud services.
Desirable Experience/ Skills
  • Microsoft 365 experience or exposure
  • ERP/MRP Implementation and management
  • AS400 experience or exposure
  • Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager experience
  • Microsoft Network Policy Services experience
  • Microsoft AD Federation Services experience
  • Lotus Notes/Domino Server administration / Lotus Notes Traveller
  • CAD software/server administration - CREO, AutoCAD
  • Civica HR, Payroll & Time and Attendance (Carval) experience or exposure
  • Factory Vision systems experience or exposure
Qualifications
  • University degree in the field of computer science or business administration and a significant number of years related work experience.
