Overview Of The HR Business Partner

Reporting into the Head of HR, we are looking for a Generalist HR Business Partner on a 12 month FTC to support the growth and drive of this Global Technology Organisation. Due to continued demand in the business we are currently looking for a professional, experienced, results driven Generalist HR Business Partner to join the established HR team.

This is a hands-on role for a HR Business Partner who has a passion for and experience in technology organisations and is prepared to roll-up their sleeves and help out other members of the team where needed. You will partner closely with your client group, coaching and assisting leadership teams to understand and effectively implement policies, procedures and best practice, ensuring a consistent approach across the group.

To be successful in this role you will need to apply a calm and professional approach in a fast-paced environment where priorities change frequently. You will need strong organisational and project management skills, be able to manage multiple tasks, meet strict deadlines and be efficient and proactive in your work. This role requires an experienced individual who has both a good understanding of business’ needs and of HR processes and requirements, and is able to balance these effectively.

HR Business Partner Responsibilities
  • Manage your business units activities including but not limited to meeting with managers and employees, this will include Disciplinary, Grievance, Global Mobility requests, attending seminars and business unit presentations and team meetings.
  • Implementing all cyclical HR programmes and initiatives such as performance management, succession planning, workforce planning and engagement surveys.
  • Analyse results from the Employee Engagement Survey and coach business managers in creating action plans to enhance employee engagement.
  • Prepare People Plans and stats and carry out investigations for the business unit as required. Lead the delivery of the agreed global and local people agendas within your client group.
  • To process structured job changes within policy an including administration tasks for this as required.
  • To undertake organisational change and restructuring projects as the business need arises.
  • Manage policy changes as required by Employment law as it evolves and is created.
  • Lead and direct the delivery of the relevant people strategies in line with the UK business strategies, including standards and frameworks across all HR disciplines (organisational design and resource planning, organisational development and culture, employee relations, talent management and succession planning.
  • Be actively involved in contributing to and implementing company-wide projects, including taking the lead for the UK in areas assigned to you, ensuring that the needs and requirements of the business units within the UK are heard, considered and met wherever possible, and communicating and implementing changes within the required timelines and in good practice.
  • To manage expatriate assignments (incoming).
  • Act as a visible partner and thought leader, providing trusted one-to one coaching and non-operational advice to relevant business leaders on people issues to enhance their ability to deliver the people strategy.
  • Weekly and monthly reporting to Head Quarters (headcount, forecasting, management, projects).
  • Support and influence organisational design and organisational change.
  • Monitor the local organisation and capability and coordinate Organisational Development efforts to adapt to changing demands and circumstances.
  • Drive activities to improve the business Employee Value Proposition (EVP), employee experience and employee engagement across the business.
  • Programme manage complex change and transformation projects within the business (e.g. creation of new business units, M&A, disposals, re-organisations).
Whats in your DNA?

Ideally you will have operated at a Business Partner level within a technology led organisation as preference will be given to candidates with this experience

  • Resilient and able to work under pressure in a busy environment, often to tight timescales, and in which priorities can change at short notice
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and on own initiative as required, but contribute to a team ethos.
  • To be able to proactively challenge and influence managers, and with proven problem solving skills.
  • To be able to manage change in a change environment and act as a Change Agent.
  • To be able to competently converse with and understand business pressures at every level of the business, along with strong written skills, often communicating with an audience of high technical skills and operational experience.
  • To be able to cope with a highly demanding and challenging business model.
  • Demonstrate experience within your previous roles.
  • Strong computer literacy skills, being proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience of Workday platform is desirable.
