HR ADMINISTRATOR – FIXED TERM CONTRACT – 6 MONTHS


FULL TIME: 37.5 hours – 5 days.

LOCATION: Cannock, Staffordshire

SALARY: £9.75 per hour

The Opportunity
:


To support both the business and the HR function in this essential role, by the delivery of efficient and accurate HR and Payroll services to the business in this pivotal role, providing administrative support and assistance to the wider People team.


Your key responsibilities will include

  • Working with the HR Assistant and HR Assistant (Payroll) to coordinate on-boarding process of new starters, including production of contracts, sending out and receiving of new starter paperwork and sending for references (as appropriate).
  • Being the first point of contact for all HR-related queries, including supporting in the management of the People Team mailbox, the Payroll inbox, the recruitment inbox and internal/external post.
  • Undertaking the ‘HR welcome’ on day one for all new starters, including issuing ID badges and working through new starter information
  • Setting up and maintaining digital personnel files and filing
  • Ensuring HR archiving takes place at regular intervals
  • Co-ordinating and administering the long service award schemes
  • Covering day-to-day payroll activities in the absence of the HR Assistant (Payroll)
  • Co-ordinating the annual ‘employee details’ checks – sending out the checks, monitoring receipt, updating the Payroll and filing
  • Producing HR Metrics for key business areas when requested
  • Maintaining and improving essential HR administrative processes to ensure all ‘business as usual’ activity is accurate and delivered on time
  • Assisting with recruitment and/or training activities as required
  • All administration processes delivered as efficiently as possible
  • Maintain a suite of documents and templates


What we are looking for
:


Prior experience of administration role (essential), working within a HR environment (desirable)


Basic knowledge of HR issues such as probationary periods, absence management, recruitment and low level investigations (desirable).


Experience of creating documents associated with the employment lifecycle e.g. new starter contracts, induction packs, changes to terms and conditions and leaver documentation (desirable).


You will have excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills and a professional telephone manner. The ability to build good working relationships with colleagues at all levels.


You will have high levels of accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and organise own workload on a daily basis. Absolute discretion with confidential information is essential.


You will have strong computer skills, with an above average working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, with flexibility and a willingness to learn.
