We have an opportunity for a Hostel Night Security Officer to join our team based in Bradfordon a full-time basis working 40 hours per week in a hostel setting until March 2022. We are offering the successful candidate a competitive salary of£18,958 per annum plus pension & excellent benefits.

As our Hostel Night Security Officer, you will be responsible for safeguarding the hostel building between hours specified by the Project Manager and in accordance with the Project rota.

Key duties of our Hostel Night Security Officer will include:
  • Working in partnership with the Project staff in line with the Trusts Lone Worker Policy
  • Ensuring that residents, visitors, staff receive a quality service at all times
  • Providing a safe and secure environment for all occupants of the premises and grounds
  • Organising emergency repairs in accordance with Trust Policy outside normal hours
  • Being responsible for Emergency Procedures, and the actions to be taken
  • Ensuring all First Aid and Fire Fighting equipment is in the correct location and is functional
  • Responding to the activation of the Automatic Fire Detection Systems
  • Assisting with the de-escalation of incidents involving clients and/or others
  • Actively ensuring the physical security of the hostel, including any outbuildings
  • Having a comprehensive knowledge of the security systems
  • Invigilating the project Entrance Hall from 21:00 hours to 09:00 hours
  • Assisting in the issue and receipt of residents’ keys, ensuring all accesses are adequately locked
  • Liaising with the Police if necessary
  • Reporting faulty or misplaced fire fighting equipment to the Hostel Manager
The Bradford project has a 17-bed hostel facility as well as 24 units of move-on accommodation in the community for clients with a Bradford connection at risk of offending. You would be supported by the management team at Box Tree Cottage and have an appropriate induction so you can feel confident in adjusting to a new role. This may include shadowing staff at Horton Housing who we share a contract with to deliver our service in the community.
