Your role will be supporting the busy and dynamic team in the Weymouth UTC with some support also required, if needed, in the MIU’s. It is an exciting time to join our team as we work collaboratively within Dorset Integrated Urgent Care Service, delivering excellent, high quality care to patients who need same day urgent care.As a Healthcare assistant you will show a commitment to patient care and excellent standards of service delivery, demonstrating skills in minor injuries and minor ailments. A background in working in this sector is preferable.The Weymouth & Portland Urgent Treatment Centre, based at Weymouth Community Hospital is open 8am – 8pm 7 days per week. We are a busy service covering the Weymouth area and our second site at Portland Minor Injury Unit. We assess and treat patients with a variety of urgent conditions and minor injuries. We are committed to providing high quality care to patients and aim to prevent admissions to the Emergency Department. Our skilled multidisciplinary clinical team consists of Paramedics and Nurse Practitioners, skilled Healthcare Assistants and Doctors.We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Assistant for a permanent position. This is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly team for up to 37.5 hours per week, to support us in providing person centered high quality care. Successful candidates will work under the supervision of registered practitioners and after training be competent to perform and record observations / investigations and carry out procedures / treatments including dressings and applying plaster of paris splints.Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.At Dorset HealthCare we’re on a mission to empower people to make the most of their lives through our outstanding, joined-up healthcare services.
