Health and Safety Officer required by our client who are a leader within their field of Energy production in the Swindon area. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring H & S regulations are adhered to and drive companywide improvement.

Responsibilities – Health and Safety Officer:

• Setting and monitoring high standards for internal H&S reporting such as Safety Observations, Near Misses and Incident reporting and investigation.
• Defining and enforcing suitable standards for plant operations.
• In partnership with the Training Officer, ensuring the right level of H&S training is delivered to the relevant roles within ABSL.
• Reviewing Risk Assessments.
• Review and Approve CoSHH assessments.
• Developing systems to achieve compliance with ISO 45001.
• Conduct audits of the Safe Systems of Work.
• Delivering in-house H&S Training.

Requirements – Health and Safety Officer:

• NEBOSH General Certificate or higher, or equivalent.
• Proven experience within a similar role in a process or production environment.
• Proactive and pacesetting.
• Adaptable.
• Ability to take a leading role in, and champion plant safety.
• Demonstrable ability to influence a team.
• Coaching/mentoring style.

Desirable:

• Knowledge of implementing the requirements of ISO 45001.
• Knowledge of DSEAR and Process Safety
