Are you a Health and Safety Manager?

A highly successful manufacturing company based in Leamington Spa is looking for an experienced Health and Safety Manager.
The role will be based from the Leamington Spa site, but some site visits will be required to support their field based staff.
Salary - £40,000 - £45,000
Hours – Monday – Thursday 8:30am – 5:30pm Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm.

Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone with proven experience in safety, and a thorough understanding of health and safety legislation and guidelines. You will need to hold a valid qualification in Occupational Health and Safety such as a NEBOSH General Certificate and have a good understanding of ISO45001 requirements.
You’ll need to be an exceptional communicator, able to both report to the board and to be hands-on working with department managers and individuals to educate and drive a health and safety culture.
Good knowledge of risk assessment and data analysis.

Main responsibilities
  • To lead the development and implementation of an Occupational Health and Safety Management System and gain and maintain ISO45001 certification
  • To maintain expert knowledge and report to Directors on health and safety legislative or guidance changes and update the Health and Safety legislation within the legal register
  • To develop and execute health and safety strategy for safe work at both the Leamington Spa site and for their engineers in the field, according to legal guidelines
  • To work with Directors and the HR and Quality Manager to create, introduce, update and enforce policies to promote a positive culture of health and safety
  • To investigate and report on incidents (accidents/near misses) and hazards and provide recommendations for improvements
  • To conduct training and presentations on health and safety matters and accident prevention, and/or engage third parties to meet training requirements
  • To work with team managers to create and review safe systems of work and risk assessments
  • To cultivate excellent internal and external communication, driving forward a culture of openness towards Health and Safety issues
  • To execute a strict internal audit program and managing any deficiencies, including but not limited to; site inspections, equipment checks, safety walks
  • To chair the HSQE Committee meetings, driving forward outstanding improvement actions. Communicate the outcomes of these meetings for all interested parties
  • To ensure a robust regime of equipment calibration, verification, inspection and replacement is adhered to
  • To control the companies COSHH register and create and update COSHH assessments for all relevant substances used within the business
  • To maintain a suitable safe working environment at the Leamington site. Including management of facilities maintenance company, contractors and visitors site
