Head Teacher - Shropshire - Up to £61KHere at Hampton’s we are working in exclusive partnership with a highly established and dedicated children’s residential care provider who are seeking a Head Teacher to oversee their high quality residential special school provision based in the Shropshire area for students with learning disabilities and associated emotional needs. Are you a SEND expert looking for a new challenge?Our client has been running high quality and successful Ofsted services for over 15 years and is one of the leading organisations across the UK. They provide an integrated service, both residential and educational, for young people who have experienced trauma in their lives on both a short and long term basis. Student timetables are individually tailored with the lesson being suited to each young person’s needs at any particular time. Programmes are made up of academic lessons, personal skills, outdoor education, vocational qualifications and work experience.   • Encourage high standards of behaviour from pupils, built on rules and routines that are understood by staff and pupils and clearly demonstrated by all adults in school
  • Monitor evaluate and review classroom practice and promote improvement strategies to ensure that underperformance is challenged at all levels and ensure effective corrective action and follow up is undertaken in line with Every Child Matters
  • Deploy people and resources efficiently and effectively to meet specific objectives in line with the school’s strategic plan and financial context
  • Present a coherent and accurate account of the school’s performance in a form appropriate to a range of audiences, including parents, the company Directors, the LA, the local community, OFSTED and others, to enable them to play their part effectively
  • Make arrangements, if so required, for the security and effective supervision of the school buildings, contents and grounds, ensuring that any lack of maintenance is reported to the maintaining authority
Skills And Experience
  • Qualified Teacher and hold an NPQH or a willingness to complete this on commencement of the role
  • Proven experience of SEN settings with a good understanding of the SEND Code of Practice; SENCO qualification is desirable
  • Experience of undertaking school improvement and preparing for OFSTED
  • Successful leadership and management experience in a special needs school
  • A commitment to getting the best outcomes for all pupils and promoting the ethos, vision and values of the school
