What you would do as our Head of Product Innovation

Innovation is core to ASSA ABLOY’S success within the UK & Ireland. We are looking for someone who will lead this activity at a senior level in order to develop further momentum in our innovation journey.

Reporting directly to the CTO and Business Development Director, you would:
  • take an active role within BU NPI strategy
  • provide governance around R&D and innovation
  • validate product generation plans with business units prior to Board approval
  • provide R&D focus for new product developments & standards
  • be the link between the project teams, the ASSA ABLOY UK&I Board and EMEIA
  • validate product generation plans with business units prior to Board approval
  • develop the Lean Innovation principles within the AAUK competence centres to achieve Gold status
  • work with EMEIA to deliver PLM project
  • lead the R&D tax relief process
  • improve the pulse rooms/project plans to become more efficient
  • deliver the EMEA KPI’s for Innovation for NPI
  • allocate internal/external design resource for business approved projects using Visual Lean Innovation
  • develop the AAUK prototyping facilities
  • provide Technical Authority for product compliance (DPIA’s)
The Skills And Experience You Need

We are looking for someone who:
  • Has a technical understanding of our product ranges
  • Is a New Product Innovation process expert
  • Is degree qualified in a relevant subject area
This is a new and wide role for a talented and experienced professional with technical knowledge, a good understanding of the market, a background in R&D, product development and commercial. Ideally, you are a project manager, who believes in the value of our products and services, and a leader who knows how to inspire a team and drive innovation.
