RS Group is seeking a Head of Packaging in our Product and Supply Chain team. We have set some very ambitious goals for our 2030 ESG action plan:

The purpose of this role is to take our offering to the next level, working with the Supply Chain team & ESG team you will work on improving our packaging offering to our customers and from our suppliers.

What will you be doing?

As the Head of Packaging for RS, you will lead the team and create and lead the strategy for more sustainable packaging while also looking at cost reduction. Procure new sustainable packaging solutions within the supply chain function and roll out new processes including automation. There will also be a need to work with suppliers to ensure that they are working to make their own offerings more sustainable and manage their and our customers’ expectations.

There is also a small transport element within this role, and this role will look to influence and manage the CO2 reduction plans across the group. You will also manage our external 3PL providers influencing their plans, how they impact RS, and ensure they are compliant with our RS requirements.

Alongside these responsibilities, the Head of Packaging will also work with the RS ESG team to lead training and internal engagement campaigns and deliver presentations/reports that engage internal and external stakeholders in out sustainability progress.

What do you need to be successful?

You will need to have previous experience in a packaging-based role in a supply chain, logistics, retail, or e-commerce environment. It is also essential for you to have some experience and knowledge of transport in a logistics capacity.

You will also need:

  • Experience leading diverse teams, directly and indirectly.
  • The ability to operate strategically and develop tactical solutions and initiatives.
  • Very good influencing and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • A strong work ethic and a desire to change and implement continuous improvements.
