This could be a once in a lifetime opportunity to change your career path for the better and take on a unique role in the Caribbean Islands.

Dreams of escaping the UK for the Caribbean sunshine could very well be your reality!

Contract Scotland is partnering with the largest contractor originating in the Caribbean as they look to recruit the best talent from the UK.

Our client has an impressive track record, having operated in the Caribbean for over 55 years, delivering over 100 projects across the Islands including hotels, education, healthcare and housing. They remain at the forefront of the construction industry with the best maintained plant and equipment in the region, delivering in the most challenging of conditions, and in the tightest possible timeframes.

As Head of Operations, you’ll manage the overall construction operations of the company in the Eastern Caribbean Region. You’ll provide leadership in project development, design, implementation, and execution and safeguard all company assets while developing a strong multi-skilled team to support the company’s growth objectives.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for all project activities pertaining to personnel, site logistics and contracts, as well as ensuring that the company’s projects run smoothly and are in compliance with all regulations for the Eastern Caribbean region
  • Partner with the Managing Director to represent the company with external stakeholders including government, financiers, vendors, and partners as required for the Eastern Caribbean region
  • Ensure financial viability of the organisation’s projects in the Eastern Caribbean region through sound fiscal management
  • Participate in expansion activities as required (investments, acquisitions/partnerships etc.) for the Eastern Caribbean region
  • Review and sign off on Monthly Managing Director’s Reports and provide risk and opportunity assessments
  • Assist with the introduction of new construction technology initiatives and strategies in support of the company’s growth objectives
  • Implement continuous quality improvement processes in the Eastern Caribbean region throughout the projects that are being executed

  • Provide direction, development, and leadership to team members.

To be suitable for this role, you’ll be passionate about taking your experience to a new and challenging environment where you will mentor and nurture talent. Due to the nature of projects, my client is interested in those who have experience working with Tier 1 building contractors in a senior role such as Operations or Contracts Manager.

What’s in it for me?:

  • Higher earning potential compared to Scotland/UK
  • Initial 2 year contract with the opportunity to extend beyond
