Summary

This is a great opportunity to join the Facilities & Property Asset Management Team at HM Land Registry. This leadership role requires the application of subject matter expertise to key stakeholders and managers, providing assurance, managing risks and driving culture change across the organisation. As Head of Health, Safety & Sustainability you will set the strategic direction for effective health & safety and sustainability management.

You will be responsible for developing and leading change programmes to drive positive safety and sustainability culture that reflect developments in legislation, wider government targets and organisational change.

Job description

Reporting to the Head of Facilities and Property Asset Management, you will develop, maintain, and continuously improve health & safety and environmental management systems in line with standards and certifications to ISO45001 and ISO14001 respectively.

This role will require regular travel to all HM Land Registry sites and in particular regular visits to Nottingham (if not based there) for group and team meetings.




Responsibilities

To be successful in this role you will be qualified to NEBOSH General Certificate or Diploma or equivalent and have a proven track record in implementing and delivering health & safety compliance strategies and managing sustainability in office environments.

This will include a sound understanding of relevant legislation and compliance auditing in line with ISO 45001 & 14001 management standards.

You will have a strong ability and experience in writing and reviewing policies, guidance and risk assessments and embedding policy changes in a workplace environment.

You will have sound judgement; be able to effectively identify, manage and mitigate risks; and have strong consultation, influencing and negotiation skills, to enable you to build a reputation as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders.
