About Our Client

Our client are a leading Energy business who are at the forefront of this ever changing market.

Job Description

You will be responsible for optimising business processes and revenue/profitability of the organisation and key projects. You will also play a key role in communicating the Strategy to senior management, support the central Coms team with external coms and internal coms in relation to Projects
  • Oversees forecasting cycles and responsible for forecast robustness and effective communications at all level of the organisation
  • Synthetise results, forecast and strategic initiatives for the monthly Performance Reviews to senior management
  • Main interface to group functions including M&A, Treasury, tax etc in all matters related to projects
  • Evaluate the project options, engage with expert advisers - government advisers, financing, tax etc - to pull all project strands together to articulate the overall project/business strategies
  • Assist in preparing legal, finance and other documentations required for strategic partnerships, joint-venture, acquisitions and mergers, etc
  • Review and model potential government support models and provide analysis to senior management to shape response to government consultations
  • Co-ordinate with the project team to capture effective business options to develop potential opportunities
  • Manage 2 Analysts - a Finance Analyst and a Commercial Analyst
The Successful Applicant

Work Experience & Skills
  • Excellent technical, legal and analytical skills and how to effectively apply them in a project
  • Relevant transactional experience (M&A, project finance, etc) preferably in energy
  • Managing a wide range of stakeholders from external partner, to regulators and senior executives
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

Education & Certification
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree preferably degree(s) in Engineering, Management or Finance
  • Qualified accountant ACA / CIMA / ACCA
  • MBA considered an advantage

Competencies
  • Ability to communicate effectively and explain complex ideas in simple terms with Finance and non-Finance staff
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with non-Finance staff to ensure an excellent relationship with Finance is maintained and rapport developed
  • Self-starter who is able to work independently but also know when to ask for support
  • Able to manage multiple deliverables and support others in the team as needed
  • Proven MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Analytical and numerical skills with an understanding of company financial information and accounts
  • Understand the importance of a safety led culture
