Your role at a glance

Are you an experienced and trusted technology leader passionate about delivering business value through technology?

You’ll play a pivotal role in a team with big ambitions. You’ll shape the IT strategy and be the voice for technology across Group Functions (including Group Finance, HR, Risk, Legal). A strategic thinker, you’ll inspire those around you, ensuring IT is not only in sync with but also delivers to Legal and General’s Strategy.

What you’ll be doing

  • Developing and leading a team of talented architects across all disciplines
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to understand the business strategy and ensure the IT Strategy and Roadmap supports this
  • Establishing and maintaining regular communications with business leaders, business application/business product owners and data owners, to proactively assist in the direction for future projects and programmes.
  • Establishing and leading on optimal application and data architecture standards, governance framework
  • Leading analysis of the technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on the enterprise architecture, and delivering innovative solutions in support of Group Finance’s vision and strategy
  • Collaborating with colleagues to facilitate and lead the evaluation and selection of business applications (and work with security; the central Group Tech Team to ensure supporting infrastructure alignment)

What we’re looking for

  • A track record of multimillion-pound project delivery
  • Proven ability to build successful working relationships, networks and team dynamics
  • Strong knowledge of design and architectural patterns as well as IT industry standards and IT governance
  • A people leader with line management experience
  • Knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, SOA, API, open data, micro services, event driven IT and predictive analytics and business intelligence/analytics.
  • Experienced leader with broad architecture and technology experience preferably in a Finance or Regulated environment with extensive experience across network, applications, data and infrastructure domains
  • Experienced consultant in professional services
