Local Authorities are facing unprecedented challenges and well managed finances have never been more important. To help us in our goal of financial excellence we are now looking to recruit a Group Accountant. You will need to be CCAB qualified or equivalent and have substantial experience within a similar role.

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic individual with relevant technical accountancy knowledge specifically relating to Capital Accounting and Treasury Management. You should be an excellent communicator who is confident dealing with Members, Senior Leaders, Senior Managers and as well as managing a team and business partnering with all service users.

The role requires excellent IT skills together with the ability to solve complex problems, have an analytical nature which contributes to the delivery of a high-quality technical service from our accountancy team.

Together with the above, ideally you should have experience of closure of the statement of accounts for fixed assets, financial instruments and general capital accounting and funding as well as good report writing skills to enable the production of appropriate reports including the annual budget report, quarterly budget monitoring reports and capital and treasury management strategies.
