Together, we’re pioneering the future of science and medicine, developing products that enable researchers in the fight to save lives.We are looking for a Global Customs Valuation Leader, responsible for ensuring compliance with global customs valuation laws and regulations while driving customer satisfaction. The Global Customs Valuation Leader will partner with other key functions, including the tax team, to ensure Cytiva maintains compliant transfer pricing practices, accurate customs valuation and duty outlays, and well documented valuation policies and procedures. This role will work actively across the business to identify areas of improvements as well as serve as an internal global customs valuation subject matter expert and advisor. This individual is responsible for proactively identifying and managing risk to align with Cytiva’s regulatory, business, and financial objectives.The working location would depend on the location of the candidate but preferable in the United Kingdom, United States, Sweden, Hungary or Singapore. However, this position may require that you are up for occasional travel to other Cytiva facilities domestically and internationally.What You’ll Do- Develop global processes for identifying, quantifying, and declaring transfer pricing adjustments
- Work with Transfer Pricing and Finance teams to establish Transfer Pricing/Customs valuation methodology, adjustments/changes, and statutory additions to value world-wide
- Develop effective customs valuation decisions, methodologies, and defense arguments globally
- Develop and conduct training to support internal education on compliant customs valuation methodologies to key functional regional stakeholders
- Risk-Assess, monitor, and audit Cytiva customs valuation policies and procedures
- Lead consultation with external parties in the event of a government or 3rd party valuation audit
- Proactive management of customs valuation related risks in accordance with Cytiva’s strategic priorities
- Champion continuous improvement projects to expand policies, procedures, work instructions to enhance compliance
- Conduct period risk assessments to identify both compliance and operational gaps in global customs valuation program. Implement necessary corrective actions to close gaps.
- Collaborate with DHR corporate self-testing, countermeasure, and risk assessment programs
- Coordinate initiatives with Tax, Legal, Logistics, IT, Plant and Finance teams to provide strategic input into supply chain decisions
- Perform analysis of data to determine and support the determination of a value for customs duty purposes
- Ensure changes to regulations either globally or locally are identified and embedded into Cytiva’s approved valuation methodologies
- Managing customs valuation related inquires
- Technical knowledge in accounting, finance or relevant field is required
- Strong understanding WTO value specific regulations that impact trade and compliance like valuation hierarchy and transfer pricing methodologies
- Understanding of international agreements and regulations governing customs valuation in a manufacturing, R&D and commercial environment.
- Understanding of an effective global supply chain process and foresee potential obstacles and risks
- An understanding of accounting, Transfer Pricing (TP), international tax experience would be an advantage
- Analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to analyze data.
- Ability to present to, and engage with Cytiva stakeholders in the business, and with third parties.
- Ability to work within a team and driving independent initiatives/projects.
- Ability to communicate (verbal, written) effectively in English across multiple levels, any additional European language is a plus
- Solid communication and analytical skills, including experience with communicating with others from different counties and cultures
- Ability to energize, develop and build rapport at all levels within the organization
