We are looking for a manufacturing engineer to act as a bridge between R&D and Manufacturing. You will help to define ways of working with our CMO and sub-contractors, ensuring high quality design transfer and seamless control to manufacture. You will be working within a multidisciplinary team, joining us as we ramp manufacture across both legacy and new product lines. This is an excellent opportunity to work in the dynamic and fast growing Cell and Gene therapy space.

What You’ll Do
  • Working closely with current manufacturing engineers to achieve harmonised manufacturing with multiple CMOs.
  • Acting as a “voice of manufacturing” to Design Engineers, to ensure engineering changes are implemented in a controlled way and take DFM considerations into account.
  • Controlling and maintaining engineering changes from R&D into Manufacture.
  • Supporting deign transfer activities for future NPIs.
  • Liaising with and working with sub tier Suppliers and our CMO to ensure seamless production (process tolerances, yield etc.) and maintenance of quality.
  • Driving efficiency initiatives through our CMO and also sub tier suppliers (throughput, yield or cost-down).
Who You Are
  • Good Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or similar discipline e.g. Mechatronics.
  • Ability to converse with our Mechanical, Electronic and Software disciplines from a Manufacturing Engineering perspective.
  • Commercial experience working in a Manufacturing Environment or similar role, ideally manufacturing Electro-Mechanical Products.
Desired characteristics
  • Proven enthusiasm for Manufacturing Engineering in the fast growing Biotech industry, or other regulated industry
  • Ability and willingness to quickly learn, manage, implement and improve the production processes and relationships with our suppliers.
  • Understanding of Design Transfer and enthusiasm to work within ISO9001 and ISO13485 QMS.
  • Fast learner, willingness to adapt to and adopt new tools.
  • Ability to define and create Ways of Working / SoPs.
  • Familiar with PLM systems, change control and ISO 9001/13485 environments
