What does a Global Client Managing Director do at Hogarth?

By understanding Hogarth’s full breadth of services, our Client Managing Directors bring smart solutions to clients, helping them transform their business. They are hunters and team builders who drive client business, as well as grow Hogarth’s opportunities and revenue. They typically manage a portfolio of clients that account for £10m+ in revenue.

They add value by building and growing client relationships and partnering with confidence across the WPP network. They possess Exec level gravitas and are valued by our most senior clients for their partnership and strategic guidance. These people are drivers of growth, they identify new business opportunities and manage new business pitches at a global level and/or across the WPP network to grow their portfolio of business. They are storytellers who can drive and lead business with the ability to write and present decks with flare and precision. They are exceptional leaders of clients, complex teams and individuals. They epitomise our brand values, are passionate about the business and inspire others to continually push to be better.

Requirements

Growth and account planning

  • Drives agency revenue growth by identifying ’net new’ opportunities while also constantly hunting for organic growth – for example Sustainably Made
  • Leads opportunities to drive/extend global client business and partnership
  • Builds a client business development plan, comms and contact strategy (per client) identifying specific opportunities and actions needed
  • Monitors and communicates POV on current marketing and industry issues
  • Understands client challenges and presents potential opportunities to Hogarth’s global production teams and Hogarth.io to help identify innovative, cutting edge solutions

Relationship management

  • Establishes and grows exec level client relationships based on plan referred to above
  • Seen as a trusted advisor to Client on Hogarth’s Global capabilities and provides guidance and counsel to Exec level clients to helping them achieve growth.
  • Ultimately, responsible for overall client engagement and relationship health
  • In-depth understanding of contractual obligations and commercial arrangements and SLAs across assigned accounts.
  • Provides regular strategic insights to clients on a monthly/quarterly basis that focused on high-level strategy within Hogarth’s areas of expertise.

Collaboration

  • Knows Hogarth inside and out – knows the right people to talk to, the right people to bring in at the right time and takes ownership of opportunities driving the business.
  • Supports high level of trust and respect among department heads in Creative, Production, Operations, Technology, Finance and SMEs
  • Effectively navigates teams when there are conflicting priorities
  • Develops and maintains WPP interagency and OpCo relationships with a focus on media partnerships and data pushing our strategic vision

Leadership

  • Contributes to Hogarth Worldwide culture by exhibiting ownership, professionalism, passion and leading by example
  • Empowers the BD to take ownership and find solutions, while supporting her/him by removing any barriers to success
  • Creates a culture of fresh-thinking, collaboration, respect and inclusivity, with a focus on learning, development and growth
  • Ensure the BD hires and retains the best talent

Financials

  • Ultimately responsible for budgets, forecasting and achieving the agreed contribution margin.
  • Strong oversight of SOW, construction of fees, account reviews, profitability analysis.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in Client Services industry, with experience working in a marketing, digital agency and/or consultancy environment
  • Healthcare sector experience
  • Integrated experience with strong digital capabilities and knowledge of technical tools used in pharma/healthcare sector
  • Strong growth mindset with a motivation to meet specific financial targets.
  • Expert executive client relationship skills – multi stakeholder environment, matrix reporting, industry POV.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow revenue through organic growth and new business
  • Ability to write clear, cohesive and focused client comms including strategic presentations with strong storytelling skills. Also mentoring BDs and SAMs to further develop these skills.
  • Ability to build partnerships across disciplines, networks and teams
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Authentically passionate about great work, teams and business
  • Experience driving positive and/or turning around Client Satisfaction Scores
  • Curiosity and insatiable need for continual learning that is infectious
