At the NHS, we are reminded every day of how important life is. As a flexible working friendly organisation, we want to be sure that you can work in a way that is best for us and for our patients, and for you. Speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate a flexible working arrangement whether that’s job share, part time or another flexible pattern. In addition, although the role advertised may have a ‘home’ office base indicated, we remain committed to supporting flexibility around workplace locations. If it works for the service, we will do our best to make it work for you.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Community Hospital team at Liskeard Hospital and work with an exceptional team of General Service staff who pride themselves on the excellent standards of cleanliness and housekeeping they provide.

This role will include a wide range of tasks, from serving meals and drinks, kitchen, portering duties to general and infection control cleaning.

We are looking for someone who is reliable, motivated and dedicated to providing the very best environment for our patients. We also require flexibility as the successful post holder will be required to work in different areas of the hospital in various shift patterns.

This is a part time post of 30 hrs per week

Being part of a successful NHS Foundation Trust brings a portfolio of rewards and benefits for our staff. These include:

  • Free access to individual HARP portfolios to support revalidation for nursing staff
  • Free DBS checks where required
  • Discounts available from retailers, UK hotels and main attractions
  • NHS Pension Scheme
  • Salary sacrifice car scheme
  • Cycle to work scheme

Applicant requirements

Applications from job seekers who require sponsorship to work in the United Kingdom (UK) are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. Please note that from January 2021, to work in the UK all candidates who are not UK or Republic of Ireland (RoI) nationals require sponsorship unless you have permission to work via another route. Non UK / RoI candidates wishing to apply can self-assess the likelihood of obtaining a Certificate of Sponsorship here. It is vital that you provide full and accurate details of your current immigration status on the application form. Overseas applicants applying for entry clearance into the UK must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided in continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Guidance can be found here. Not everyone needs a ‘Skilled Worker’ visa. If you are applying for a vacancy in health or adult social care, check if you’re eligible to apply for the Health and Care Worker visa instead. It’s cheaper to apply for and you do not need to pay the annual immigration health surcharge

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
