For our AMETEK CTS business unit, we are looking for a General Assembly Operator (m / f / d) at our location in Newport on the Isle of Wight, UK.AMETEK CTS ( Compliance Test Solutions ) is a global leader in the electronic testing field for more than 30 years. These broadband amplifier products serve the EMC, communications, science and defense markets.The General Assembly Operator is responsible to the “Operations Manager” for activity relating to the production of RF Microwave Amplifiers, this includes RF Cable Assemblies, Sub-Assemblies of Microwave Amplifiers, Electrical cable assemblies, and the construction and build of the overall system.Key Responsibilities of the General Assembly Operator include:

• Assemble combiner/dividers to Milmega drawings within the high standard of Quality.
• Assembly & Wire sub-assemblies to drawings and RF requirements including soldering.
• Manufacture Cable assembly to wiring schedules and circuit diagrams.
• Assemble RF and Microwave Amplifier systems including mechanical build and electrical wiring.
• Assist in the Production of prototype units to Engineering sketches and instructions.

Position Requirements:

• Experience of a production environment, utilizing assembly processes & soldering skills to a high standard, including the capability to work with surface mount components. In addition, the ability to read electrical and mechanical assembly drawings and have a proven ability to participate in solving problems in the Production environment.
• IPC-A-610 or similar qualifications would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of Continuous Improvement processes would be an advantage.
• ONC or equivalent qualification in Electrical & Electronic principals.
