This hands-on position requires the IT Support Technician to have both server (MSFT & Linux) and Endpoint Device experience.Primarily based in the Abaco Towcester UK facility with periodic schedule flexibility required based on business needs. In addition, this position require the IT Support Technician to manage infrastructure devices which contain government restricted data.The IT Support Technician position is primarily responsible for the hands-on support of Abaco’s UK sites Information Technology infrastructure. This position will be located at the Abaco Towcester, UK facility.Essential Duties
  • Ensure the IT systems infrastructure and connectivity is maintained to systems hosted elsewhere.
  • Provide support for the Servers (Windows), PCs (Windows & Linux), PC applications and Printers throughout the facilities.
  • Install Company approved software (MS Office, SAP etc.).
  • Provide proactive maintenance and troubleshooting for any IT issues.
  • Work with local and wide area network (TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, etc.), wireless/RF devices, Aruba.
  • Maintain/enforce the IT Security Policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for all PC Break and Fix needs including :
  • Ensure maximum local system availability and remote connectivity.
  • Identify and diagnose software/hardware issues, provide options, recommendations and troubleshooting.
  • May require working off hours as business needs arise.
  • Develop key relationships with users and develop an understanding of key business processes.
  • Perform other work-related duties and special projects as assigned
On occasion and prior to holidays due to business priorities, additional hours may be required. At times, work hours may need to be adjusted depending on the needs of the business and backup covering for holidays.EducationBachelor’s degree and/or combination of education and technical expertise suitable for the job responsibilities.Experience
  • Demonstrable IT experience in Windows desktop support.
  • Knowledge of Desktop applications including MS Office
  • Experience in the support of other desktop technologies including printers and scanners.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic network issues and escalate as needed.
  • Strong customer service, organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to interface effectively with internal customers in a corporate environment.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Work performed in an office and manufacturing environment.

Physical TasksThe following must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation:
  • Regularly required to sit or stand, walk, bend and reach with hands and arms
  • Regular use of hands/fingers for handling, holding, grasping and typing on a computer keyboard
  • Our facility has multiple floors requiring employees to go up and down stairs as needed.
Approximately 10% travel and may include international sites.
