This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, talented team of engineers in Glasgow who are developing strategic, cloud-native software products and services that are used globally across Asset and Wealth Management (AWM) and are critical to business operations. We are looking for a full stack Java developer with great potential and a passion for solving business problems through innovation, software engineering best practices, cloud-native technologies, customer focus, learning and teamwork.

AWM Architecture and Engineering (A&E) embraces a culture of agile experimentation, improvement, and continuous learning. As a software engineer you will be required to apply your knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, share your knowledge with others, and partner continuously with stakeholders on a daily basis to stay focused on common goals. Role And Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer in our product team you will have the following responsibilities:
  • Design, code, test, deliver and support strategic, cloud-native software and services to critical business systems and application owners in AWM
  • Focus on building the right software in the right way, aligned with team goals
  • Participate actively in an agile development process, working closely with your teammates, other teams, product owners, service consumers and other stakeholders
  • Perform (and be subject to) frequent constructive peer code reviews
  • Experiment with emerging/modern technologies and adopt those that will improve our products
  • Align with the firm’s standards and guidelines to ensure our systems are stable, scalable, secure, and protected
Technical Knowledge and Expertise

Ideally you would have experience working with all or most of the technologies in the following lists - financial knowledge is not a prerequisite -but at J.P. Morgan the attitude and behaviors of a candidate are more important than expertise in a particular technology or framework, so if you are passionate about technology, have a willingness to learn, and are delivery focused, then please feel free to apply.
