We are looking to recruit a permanent fulltime (37 hours per week) Disclosure Decision Makers, within the Force Disclosure Unit. Whilst primarily based at Wiltshire Police Headquarters, Devizes, there may be an opportunity, to work elsewhere in the county, including home working.

Working in a supportive environment that offers opportunities for personal development and progression, the post holder/s will, after training both in-house and externally, join the existing Decision Makers within the Team in being a key point of contact in the Force regarding formal disclosure.

Duties Will Include

This is a challenging yet exciting opportunity and would ideally suit someone with an eye for detail and who is able to concentrate.
  • Research and retrieval of information from Force and national computer systems.
  • Analyze and evaluate information in order to collate and prepare relevant disclosure documentation.
  • Liaise with other departments internally within the Force and externally with partner agencies, courts and members of the public regarding specific disclosure applications and the disclosure process in general.
  • Making formal risk assessed disclosures to statutory bodies, courts and members of the public, under various legislative and regulatory schemes, such as the Data Protection Act 2018, GDPR and the Freedom of Information Act.
On occasions, you will input data onto local and national systems and deal with data anomalies and discrepancies. You will maintain electronic document filing and workflow systems to manage disclosures.

The post holder will require effective communication skills and the ability to deal with conflict as and when it arises. The successful applicant will be expected to maintain high standards of confidentially and discretion and will be subject to security vetting.
