Job DescriptionProtecting and enhancing East Anglia’s natural resources are unique and exciting challenges. We help people and wildlife adapt to climate change, work to reduce the impacts of flooding, drought, rising sea levels and coastal erosion. Nationally, we’re investing £5.2 billion between 2021 and 2027 to reduce flood risk to hundreds of thousands more properties.We’re looking for individuals with a good understanding of programme management.One role will focus on supporting other Risk Management Authorities with programming the delivery of their Capital projects and have a focus of improving data capture and quality assurance. This role will take the lead on presenting a monthly update to our Area Delivery Portfolio Board on our Programme position.One role will focus on supporting project teams with the development of pipeline projects, leading on our annual Programme Refresh and have a key role in reporting Natural Flood Management initiatives, Biodiversity Net Gain, and other environmental outcomes.The roles are varied and draw upon transferrable skills, the roles include (but not limited to):
  • Excellent data management skills and experience of interpreting large data sets.
  • Ensuring projects report on multiple benefits including properties, efficiencies, and environmental enhancements.
  • Responsible for providing regular, accurate and timely updates on progress. Preparing, delivering reports and presentations for internal and external customers.
  • Developing and improving data quality across projects through systems.
  • Delivering training on work areas across Area teams.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You’ll be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. We provide technical support to teams conducting projects to deliver the capital programme. This includes project managers, delivery teams, support functions and finance. Our work is fast paced, presenting accurate and consistent figures to a range of customers including Executive Management, Area Leadership, and external audiences.The team is dispersed so the ability to work independently to prioritise workload and good communication skills are essential.Experience/skills RequiredThrough experience to date, we’re seeking someone with proven experience in programme management with good data management skills.Essential skills;
  • Excellent organisation and multi-tasking skills to prioritise conflicting deadlines
  • Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Can identify clear narratives from data and information.
  • Well organised and able to work effectively under pressure.
  • Can solve problems to prioritise and manage complex programmes with competing outcomes.
  • Can deliver results through others.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to present convincing verbal and written advice to key stakeholders.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, (must be competent in Excel).
