Firearms Licensing Officer (FTC/ Secondemnt until November 2022)

A vacancy has arisen for an enthusiastic, organised and self motivated person to join the Wiltshire Firearms

Licensing Team at Headquarters. Previous administration experience working within a busy department,

including the ability to prioritise tasks, with high attention to detail and accuracy is essential. The Team are

responsible for approximately 17,000 firearm and shotgun certificates, across the County and process in the

region of 300 applications per month. All records are kept on the National Firearms Database (NFLMS) and

applications are processed in line with Home Office Guidance on Firearms Law.

The successful candidate will be able to work well within a team environment, have good communication

skills and have experience of working in a customer service environment, dealing directly with the public.

The post holder will work towards decision making with regards to the granting of firearm and shot gun

certificates and reviewing suitability when certificate holders come to adverse Police notice.
