What you’ll be doing:

Job Purpose

• To provide leadership and direction for the site finance team and ensure that they are engaged, focused, developed and delivering to their potential
• Lead the process for a robust site budget/forecasting process including communication within the site leadership team and to Divisional stakeholders
• Optimise site financial performance with a particular focus on operational conversion including direct labour, waste and fixed costs by providing support and challenge to the site and budget holders
• Ensure capital cash forecasts/budgets are accurate are phasing of cash spend is in line with forecast
• Ensure the integrity of the balance sheet through monthly detailed reviews and maintaining a detailed knowledge of balance sheet items including risks and opportunities

Key Activities

• Monthly detailed Balance Sheet reviews and maintaining a detailed knowledge of balance sheet items including risks and opportunities
• Provide robust performance management support across labour and waste and ensuring detailed fixed cost reviews routinely take place
• Lead the site GME agenda including tracking of project delivery
• Owner and gatekeeper of the site capital process, including planning and prioritising future spend, maintaining an accurate view of cash spend phasing, monitoring and challenge of project timescales from inception to completion, quality control for all capital proposals being issued from the site and monitoring capital spend
• Maintain an eye on financial outlook, looking ahead for changes in future performance required to achieve target and work with the site to develop a plan to deliver, communicating upwards where necessary
• Ensure financial reporting (weekly flash, weekly P&L, month end close) are completed accurately and within agreed timescales
• Ensure input into costings is accurate and within agreed timescales
• To provide ad hoc activities as required to support the site GM and Business Unit Head of Operational Finance

Key Performance Measures

• Balance sheet robustness measured from external and internal audits
• Site EBIT performance, along with waste, labour and fixed cost performance
• Cash capital spend in line with forecast/budget

What we’re looking for:

Formal Qualifications/Skills/Knowledge

• Qualified accountant
• Breadth of financial experience
• Understanding of manufacturing/FMCG processes
• A ‘can do’ attitude demonstrated in a challenging environment.
• Ability to challenge and support stakeholders to ensure quality outputs

Practical Experience

• Proven ability to identify, drive and manage opportunities to standardise processes to for efficiency and consistency.
• Strong system and spreadsheet capability.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely and set clear goals and direction for the team
• Be able to think clearly under pressure, and prioritise a workload to deliver results to deadlines
• Manage multiple stakeholders
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes.
• Ability to review and document processes and implement improvements.
• A methodical and logical approach to data management and communication
