STEM organisation looking to hire a technical & commercial Financial Controller.

Job Purpose

Oversea and manage all financial aspects for the 3 of the subsidiary statutory entities Specific focus on preparation and accuracy of monthly information. Manage monthly finance operations ensuring processes are carried out in line with internal financial controls. Contribute towards the ongoing continuous improvement of finance systems, processes, and organisation. Coaching/mentoring, and development of finance team members.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibility for all financial aspects for the 3 Subsidiary entities Ensure reporting across the businesses is in line with international reporting standards and consistent with the other entities. Working to tight deadlines, produce accurate & informative management information, providing maximum insight into company profitability. Maintain detailed financial forecasts, with particular focus on project performance, profitability, and project cash flow. Manage cashflow and maximise cash conversion; liaising with banks and other finance institutions to support this. Identify, track and report on key financial and non-financial performance metrics, working with the team to analyse trends and implement changes to drive improvements. Provide commercial support to the Sales team during the bidding process. Working with the Project team to ensure projects are delivered to plan, on time, on budget. Lead the monthly project review processes to ensure project revenues are accounted for in line with IFRS 15. Working with the project teams to aid the submission of R&D tax claims. Support continuous improvement across the whole business, developing innovative solutions to drive positive change. Maintain a robust and appropriate financial control environment, ensuring integrity, accuracy and transparency are built into financial processes, including the implementation of new systems where required. Assist in the preparation for half year and full year results in line with AIM requirements. Line management, development, and coaching of Management Accountant. Provide support to the FD & GFC

Knowledge & Experience

Qualified accountant with leadership characteristics Solid application of IFRS Accounting Standards, particularly IFRS2, IFRS 15, IFRS16 and IAS38 Proven ability to lead and mentor a high-performance finance team Strong commercial acumen Audit and compliance skills Excellent Excel, Word & PowerPoint skills Sage200 experience Experience of working within a PLC/listed business an advantage

Skills & Qualifications

Qualified Accountant ACA / ACCA / CIMA - Minimum 2 years PQE Project related industry experience Team management experience Confident working closely with senior management team and external stakeholders Flexible approach to work
