A growing professional services business located in North Portsmouth, Hampshire is working with CMA Recruitment Group to recruit a forward thinking Financial Controller.

Reporting to the Finance Director this is a key hire and provides the opportunity to join the business at a key stage in its growth journey. This position will have regular involvement at Board level and the ability to communicate finance information effectively and influence key stakeholders will be integral to this position.

What will the role involve?
  • Reporting to the Finance Director the Financial Controller will lead an established but evolving finance team. Leadership experience and the ability to provide guidance and mentorship will therefore be key in delivering this position;
  • Preparation of the monthly management accounts including providing detailed analysis of any variance to budget;
  • Production and oversight of the statutory reporting and acting as a key contact for auditors;
  • Review the preparation of monthly payroll, VAT and all other HMRC returns;
  • Review of systems and processes with a view to streamlining finance operations while ensuring robust processes and compliance.
Suitable Candidate
  • Applicants for the Financial Controller position will hold a full accountancy qualification with previous experience of working within an established business and a demonstrable track record of being hands-on and comfortable undertaking all aspects of the role;
  • Excellent communication skills will be essential to undertake the role successfully as the position will involve extensive liaison with key stakeholders, both internally and externally, at all levels.
