Location:Norwich, Norfolk County

ATA Search is working for a leading materials manufacturing and process organisation based in the Norfolk Country region. This £multi-million SME manufacturing business is part of a larger group and whilst it will still operate as a family-run SME, part of the journey will be to incorporate the operations into a larger-company mentality.

As such, the business has a strategic plan to organically increase turnover by £10 million over the next three years which means there will be significant investment in the upgrade of the plant, new machinery, improved operational processes and an increase in headcount of around 50%. BY FYE December 2023, the business will already have doubled its output capacity and all this investment will ensure this business maintains its market-leading status in the UK.

As a result, my client is now looking to recruit a dynamic and hands-on Finance Manager to support all finance-related activities with full autonomy and control to improve the finance operations.

Finance Manager - Key Accountabilities
  • To lead the company’s financial and management accounting, reporting and control activities
  • Oversee all accounting functions in the business – Purchase ledger, sale ledger, bad debt and invoice processing
  • Producing and managing a set of management accounts – P&L, balance sheet, cash flow statements etc
  • Managing an additional person within the finance team’s, appraisals, objective setting and coaching
  • Review, improve and update finance SOPs determined by the accounting software – Xero
  • Set up and create robust reporting systems and processes with live daily, weekly and monthly financial visibility
  • Controlling all financial elements of the organisation such as month-end reporting, year-end financial reporting and management accounts
  • Lead and participate in all financial operations of the company including reporting, forecasting, invoicing, cash management and accounts payable/receivable
  • Reconciliations, prepare reconciliations and review reconciliations by the Management Accountant
  • Gross margin management, gross margin variance analysis, financially managing sales orders and preparing a set of financial reports accordingly
  • Managing annual accounts and all audits with internal, group and external stakeholders
Finance Manager - Requirements
  • An experienced Finance Manager with a track record in delivering financial improvements
  • The successful Finance Manager will be from the manufacturing or engineering sector
  • A suitable qualification such as ACA/ACCA or CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountant) qualified
  • Excellent IT and written/verbal communication skills
  • Commutable or relocatable to Norwich or the surrounding areas
