JOB PURPOSE

Working in a constantly changing, dynamic, fast paced and diverse environment, the Financial Manager is responsible for Management Accounting across Liberty Global’s Opcos. The role will suit a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail. The successful candidate must be deadline focused with an aptitude for process improvement and simplification.

Key Responsibilities Include
  • Month-end activities:
    • Perform accounting processes across the organisation
    • Prepare journal entities
    • Prepare analysis and provide insight into areas of focus
    • Working within internal reporting deadlines
    • Making recommendation to improve and simplify processes
    • Liaise with Senior Stakeholders and influence decision making across the organisation
  • Control:
    • Implements an effective internal control framework
    • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, highlighting and resolving any issues
    • Ensuring compliance with SOx and other regulatory requirements
    • Liaising with auditors and providing evidence and supporting narrative as required
  • Process Improvement and Automation
    • Ensures work is performed efficiently
    • Identified opportunities to improve & simplifies processes
    • Works collaboratively to standardise processes
    • Works with automation teams to automate processes
Knowledge & Experience

  • Professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc.)
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS
  • Experience of working within large corporate structures.
  • Strong excel and financial systems skills (eg. Oracle, Hyperion/HFM)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to coach and develop others
  • Experience of working in a complex environment, delivering to deadlines
  • Researches into emerging / complex accounting or reporting issues

  • Qualified Accountant with Management Accounting, and/or audit experience
  • Assurance mindset – the ability to review accurately, but also to identify risks in processes and reconciliations and articulate/resolve/mitigate these as part of the monthly accounting cycle
