Finance Assistant - Birmingham
Full Time Permanent 9.00 am - 5.00 pm Monday - Thursday and 9.00am - 4.00 pm Friday

Are you an experienced Finance Assistant looking for a new role?

Our client who are based in stunning modern offices in the heart of Birmingham are looking to make an addition to their Finance Team.

Supporting specialist teams, the Finance Assistant is central to commercial operations. The responsibilities cover processing payments, debt management, credit assessment, cash handling and support to the business during live transactions. You will have a critical role supporting the dispatch handling team liaising directly with customers.

The role reports to the Head of Finance and is responsible for a number of accounting functions including budgets and forecasts, business reporting, income management, reports to external bodies, annual accounts preparation, credit control.

The Role
Processing supplier invoices and payments
Paying auction vendors
Reconciling supplier/ vendor and customer accounts.
Management of bank accounts and treasury management
Customer credit vetting processes
Recording of auction sales and raising auction invoices
Customer payments and related management of goods dispatch
Dealing with customer and vendor/supplier queries
Assisting in debt collection following auctions
Assisting in the preparation of the management accounts
Reconciling balance sheet accounts

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and confident with good communication skills, flexibility and a diligent approach. The business operates in a fast paced and demanding environment with a high transactional volume.

An AAT qualification or substantial accounts experience in bookkeeping and accounts preparation within a sales focused business is preferred as would be experience working with Microsoft Dynamics.
