Company overview and job purpose:

Lightning Fibre is the leading local alternative network provider of Full Fibre broadband in East Sussex. We are headquartered in Eastbourne and have an existing broadband network in East Sussex. Our broadband network can supply our standard installed customers with anything up to 10 Gigabits in both download either, uploads.

We are a community orientated network operator, whose aim is to significantly upgrade our regions broadband infrastructure, providing local jobs, keeping local £’s in the areas we serve and acts as a vital enabler to grow our digital local economy, thereby creating further quality jobs. Lightning Fibre has bold plans afoot, with Eastbourne and Hastings at the forefront.

The purpose of this role is to

Liaise with network support, identify and allocate resources to rectify network faults, deliver customer excellence whilst implementing support for customers Residential and B2B, needing additional services which may include: Wifi-Boosters, Data cabling, ONT placements, rerouting of cabling, Network diagnostics, location specific Wi-Fi mapping and hot spotting.

The assurance engineer will also produce on-site reports on health and safety and quality aspects of the task in hand. Auditing work will be to an internal specification, as well as monitoring PIA sensitive requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Liaise with level 2 support on upcoming tickets.

· Arrange customer visits.

· Attend portal tickets in a timely manner.

· Fault finding and remedial work on a live network.

· Use of Exfo OX1s to determine exact fault locations quickly and accurately.

· Complete relevant paperwork to tasks at hand including H&S.

· Collate reports of works carried out on site.

· Collaborate with the installations manager audits of quality aspects impeding quality delivery of service and report defects.

· File health and safety risk assessments and always ensure compliance on site.

· Responsible for time management and van contents.

· Self sufficient in stock taking and equipping themselves for site work.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

· NSRWA SLG

· PIA Accreditations

· OTDR Trained (work towards)

· 1 years splicing

· 1 years telecoms experience

· 1 years PIA experience

Demonstrated skilled abilities with the use of ABF tools and splicing.

Knowledge of pia networks, CP documents and criteria.

Experience with broadband ***

Customer excellence.

Experience using platforms like excel, word.

Experience with online form creation platforms like dash pivot and Monday.com

Working Hours

Monday - Sunday on a rota basis

8am - 6pm 45hr week
