Lightning Fibre is the leading local alternative network provider of Full Fibre broadband in East Sussex. We are headquartered in Eastbourne and have an existing broadband network in East Sussex. Our broadband network can supply our standard installed customers with anything up to 10 Gigabits in both download either, uploads.

We are a community orientated network operator, whose aim is to significantly upgrade our regions broadband infrastructure, providing local jobs, keeping local £’s in the areas we serve and acts as a vital enabler to grow our digital local economy, thereby creating further quality jobs. Lightning Fibre has bold plans afoot, with Eastbourne and Hastings at the forefront.

The purpose of this role is to ensure the effective functioning of the Lightning Fibre offices to provide an efficient and safe working environment for employees and their activities by using best business practices to manage resources, services and processes to meet the needs of the company.

We are looking for someone to support us in this role, working part time, over 5 days per week - 25hrs, £30,000 pro rata.

  • Develop and implement a facility management program including planned preventative maintenance and life cycle requirements.
  • conduct and document regular facilities statutory compliance inspections.
  • ensure compliance with health and safety standards and industry best practice.
  • allocate and manage facility space for maximum efficiency.
  • coordinate intra-office moves.
  • organize, supervise maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment.
  • oversee facility refurbishment and renovations.
  • plan and manage facility central services such as reception, security, cleaning, stationery, catering, waste disposal and parking
  • obtain quotes and tenders from vendors and suppliers.
  • calculate and compare costs for goods and services to maximise cost-effectiveness.
  • negotiate contracts to optimise delivery and cost saving.
  • coordinate and monitor activities of contract suppliers.
  • manage contractor and vendor relationships.
  • manage and review service contracts to ensure facility management needs are being met.
  • check completed work by contractors and vendors.
  • verify payment and invoicing match contract pricing.
  • prepare and track facility budget.
  • monitor expenses and payments.
  • Hands-on approach with a common-sense aptitude.

Education and Experience

  • Previous experience in Facilities Management
  • working knowledge of principles and practices of project management
  • working knowledge of principles and practices of business administration
  • sound knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations
  • solid computer and systems knowledge
