The West Staffordshire portfolio consists of 3 very different urban fringe properties each with their own story and significance.

Wightwick Manor is a Victorian half-timbered Manor House with intricate carvings and red brick work. A wonderful property consisting of a main house, Old Manor, Malthouse and Stable block.

Moseley Old Hall is a brick farmhouse built in the 1600s - it was fully timbered during the Victorian period. The house, with its farm outbuildings, offers an insight into a farmstead of its time.

Biddulph Grange Garden is a challenging site with 400 steps through the garden and several garden buildings and structures, notably a Chinese Temple and Joss House.

The West Staffordshire portfolio is full of surprises and interesting structures and the teams working across the portfolio bring a warmth of welcome to visitors, volunteers, and staff.

As Facilities Manager you’ll report to the General Manager and will be a key member of the portfolio leadership team offering advice and support to the property teams.

What you’ll be doing:For us, facilities aren’t a back-office function, so you’ll be out and about inspecting our places and keeping on top of our systems. You’ll work alongside our property and regional teams ensuring the highest levels of building care.

You’ll manage the day-to-day requirements of our as needs budget for buildings with support from a building surveyor and will also act as Project Manager for some small projects across the portfolio.

In terms of compliance, you’ll work alongside the property teams on all aspects of health & safety from training needs, to risk assessments for tasks and activities. This is a broad and varied role that will give you opportunities to learn new skills and use your knowledge.


Who we’re looking forTo deliver this role successfully, you’ll need:

  • An understanding of facilities management and building maintenance requirements
  • Good experience of broad compliance and risk management, including knowledge of Health & Safety, CDM regulations, Emergency procedures and Fire & Security procedures
  • Good people and customer service skills
  • Experience of managing budgets, finances, projects and contracts/contractors
  • Good IT skills
  • A practical understanding of building works and the complexities of dealing with listed buildings
  • ISOHH trained with a broad knowledge of compliance
  • The ability to work as part of a team and support others whilst not acting as line manager
