About The Team

Environmental Management:

As an Environmental Management / Sustainability graduate in QinetiQ you will have the opportunity to join our highly skilled team of Environmental Management specialists. You will be able to contribute in supporting the work we do to ensure that products, equipment, or services are compliant with environmental legislation, MOD policy and achieving sustainability goals across their life cycle.

The primary output for this role will be environmental-related and sustainability expertise and knowledge to deliver reports and advice in support of projects to our clients. Customer reports will cover a range of support, from advice on the procurement of new equipment, assessment of In-service equipment, support to QinetiQ trials at our Ranges and Environmental Case Development. The applicant should possess technical analytical skills and the ability to produce documentation and deliverables required. Applicants will have the ability to influence customers and improve environmental outcomes.

What will I be doing?

As a graduate Environmental Management specialist you will be expected to learn how we operate and gain domain and project knowledge to best place you in an Environmental Management role.

You may develop as a specialist in a particular domain such as law and policy, Net Zero, energy management or research and gain specific knowledge on tools and techniques that will facilitate the final output of the projects. Working with others more experienced in the team, we will give you the opportunity to experience different types of engineering projects as you move across the business. You will work closely with safety engineers on similar projects. This will enable you to gain experience across QinetiQ and help us understand where your interests may lay as a specialist.

Academic Requirements

You will need to have obtained or be studying towards at least a 2:2 in a degree with a key focus on any of the disciplines listed below, or adjacent degrees:
  • Environmental Science,
  • Environmental Law and Policy,
  • Conservation Management,
  • Marine Sciences,
  • Environmental Management
  • Geography
  • Environmental Sustainability

Additional Requirements
  • Have a strong interest and/or experience within Environmental management, such as, conservation, environmental risks, environmental impact assessments, sustainability or net zero.
  • Systems engineering knowledge would be beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Please be aware that many roles within QinetiQ will be subject to both security and export control restrictions. These restrictions mean that factors including your nationality, any previous nationalities you have held, and your place of birth may limit those roles you can perform for the organisation.
