Environment Manager

What is the role?

The Environment Manager is responsible for ensuring the highest environmental performance via strategic application of GAL’s integrated management systems ISO 14001-45001. The EM will have responsibility for overseeing strategic environmental matters in an operational context, while ensuring its’ alignment with our sustainability programme and supporting the delivery of the airport’s overall business strategy.

What will you do?

  • Ensure clear information, instruction, and guidance by way of documented Process and Procedures are accessible to all Business Units.
  • Ensure the team of environmental professionals have clear information, instruction, and guidance to drive the HSE agenda.
  • Ensure GAL’s HSE strategy and Second Decade of Change is actively driven in line with GAL’s business agenda.
  • Regular reporting of HSE metrics is delivered in line with GAL’s business agenda.
  • Develop, advise, and lead initiatives, engaging with all relevant stakeholders to achieve the Environment goals for pro-active risk management.
Do you have what we’re looking for?

  • Chartered Environment professional with an accredited Institution (e.g., IEMA), with expertise in Environment and Sustainability compliance at a senior level
  • Proven track record in the delivery of HSE objectives associated typically with extensive experience.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills and experience
  • Airport operational experience preferable
  • Demonstrated ability to establish a functional strategy to set and meet stretch targets.
